Departmental Profile: 

The Department of Anthropology is one of the latest Department of Assam University that has started functioning at Diphu campus from June 2010. The Department offers a four semester Master of Arts and Master of Science programme in Anthropology. The Department has laid special focus, Anthropology of North East India, Communication Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, Research Methodology and Applied Anthropology. The Department is planning to carry out various anthropological research works especially among the tribal communities of North eastern India.

Courses Offered: M.A/M.Sc (By course work).                  Duration: Four Semesters.             Intake Capacity: 30
