Introduction
:
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences has been
established at Assam University in the year 2010 to introduce
eight semester Bachelor Degree course in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) with
the purpose of providing trained technical manpower in the field
of Pharmacy primarily for the Southern Part of North East India.
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Assam University
will offer the B.Pharm. course from the session 2011-12. The
Department also will introduce Post Graduate and Ph.D courses in
due course of time.
The primary objective of the Department is to provide
quality education to train future pharmaceutical professionals
to cater North Eastern Region in particular and the country in
general in the field of drug manufacturing, development,
regulation & control, analysis, distribution, marketing etc.
The Department envisage to become nodal centre for the
development of pharmaceutical sciences in the Southern North
Eastern Region or for the entire NE region by initiating the
research and development activities to tap the enormous
pharmaceutical potential of this region which are yet in
unexplored state.
