Bedabrata did his M Sc in Biochemistry from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and subsequently joined PhD programme at Dept. of Life Science and Bioinformatics, Assam University. He was awarded doctorate degree in 2016. After that he joined as a Research Associate in the lab. He is carrying out research on understanding abiotic stress induced physio-biochemical and molecular responses in different crop plants.

His area of research work is in Aluminum toxicity in North-East Rice varieties. He is currently working as a Senior Research Fellow in a DST Indo-African Project. He also visited Gifu University, Japan as a special research student under UGSAS Program for 6 months and worked under Prof. Hiroyuki Koyama in the department of Applied Biological Sciences.

She got the opportunity to visit Gifu University as a special research student under UGSAS Program for 6 months and worked under Prof. Y. Y. Yamamoto in the department of Applied Biological Sciences.

Bhaben Chowardhara has completed his Master of Science in Life Science and Bioinformatics from Assam University, Silchar and subsequently joined PhD programme in the Department. His research work is mainly focused on understanding the effect of Cadmiun and Zinc in Brassica juncea.

Sanjenbam Sanjibia Devi did her M.Sc in Biotechnology from Periyar Unversity Salem Tamil Nadu in the year 2010. Her Ph.D research work is on genomic approaches in Assam tea under Aluminium stress. She got the opportunity to visit Japan as a special research student under the scheme of UGSAS-Gifu University, 6 month Sandwich programme 2016 under Akio Morita, plant Functional Physiology Lab, Faculty of Agriculture, Shizuoka University.

Saradia Kar has completed her Masters from St. Anthony’s College, North-eastern Hill University in 2011. She is presently under Ph.D programme in the department of Life Science and Bioinformatics, Assam University. Her research field mainly deals with the iron toxicity in the North-east India rice varieties. She was also under Combined Scholarship and support programme (STIBET), 2017, for 3 months and worked in the Heinrich Heiné Universtät, Düsseldorf, Germany, for that duration under Prof. Petra Bauer, Botanik department.
