Three Days National Workshop on Drama

The Dept of performing arts in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Assam University organized a 3 Day National workshop on Drama and Education held from 22nd to 24th August 2019. There are 35 participants from different dept and Silchar have joined in the workshop. These participants have engaged with different sessions organized by the resource persons. In the inaugural hon’ble VC sir addressed the importance of drama education and how the culture should be promoted through its activities. He has described his childhood memories in association with drama. E further encouraged all the faculty members to take such initiatives from the Dept.

“Since the inception of the dept the activities taken by the dept is highly appreciable. I feel proud to be the success enriched by the dept through its activities” prof GP Pandey in his address of the inaugural program mentioned.

The head in charge Jagannath Barman made a welcome address and keynote address made by Mr. Murali Basa Asst Professor, the workshop coordinator.

The workshop ends with a 30 mins collaborative performance of the participants with different themes like Triple Talaq, Woman Empowerment, Child Labour and a site-specific work on Hug the tree. Prof Dipendu Das and Prof Madhumita Sarkar taken part of the valedictory function and distributed the certificates. The workshop is jointly coordinated by Swapnoneel, the president of Rotaract Club.
